" At the age of 51, I began to develop severe pain in my lower back. I am a very active hiker and my jobs as a theatre teacher and entertainer require highly energetic activity. As the pain worsened, I began to bend forward as I walked to ease the pain. I was not able to sit for long periods of time and my sleep was restless due to lower back pain. At the age 62, I suffered a massive ischemic stroke and lost control of the left side of my body, my vision in the left eye also diminished. I have been hospitalized, diagnosed with the ischemic brain stroke caused by the sudden right carotid artery occlusion. During my stay in the hospital, I was treated with conventional medications and also received rehabilitation therapy. I used to be an athletic person and a good swimmer. In the aftermath of the stroke, I lost my ability to excercise daily, and I also could no longer drive my car. This inability to do my habitual activities upset me a great deal, and I started developing the symptoms of depression.
